Welcome to Lamina’s Reviews where I share my thoughts (see what I did there lol) about different movies/series every Tuesday. I am not a professional at reviews I am basically just writing my opinion on them (Remember our opinions might differ). You can drop movies or series suggestions in the comment section below. Enjoy!
THE END OF THE F***ING WORLD REVIEW
Welcome back to the first Tuesday of my reviews and I am starting with the end of the F***ing World which is a very dark and weird series. It is about a boy named James that believes he is a psychopath and a girl named Alyssa who is his classmate (Not a normal obedient one).
James made the personal decision that he wants to try to kill a human being (You can see he is mad) because he has been killing animals for too long (You see someone’s goal in life).
Sister Alyssa proposed that they should run away together, hoping for an adventure away from her home life, and James agrees with the intention of finding an opportunity to kill her (You see life). They embark on a road trip across England and begin to develop a relationship and a lot of things go wrong. That’s the overview of the series basically. Even as weird and odd the series is I still recommend that you watch it because it was actually really interesting and it is worth sitting down to watch. In this show I don’t have one favourite character I love both of them lol
If I am to rate this series I will give it a 9/10 because it fulfilled all the promises of being weird lol. So you should definitely watch it, Thank you for reading see you next Tuesday!
PATRICK MELROSE REVIEW
I am so excited to welcome you to another wonderful Tuesday of reviews first I have to ask how your holiday was? did you enjoy it? Well I enjoyed mine because I rested well ahead of the continuation of work today and that’s why I decided to bless your eyes with this review on the Showtime series “Patrick Melrose” which is all about a man (Patrick) played by the amazing, beautiful and loveable “Benedict Cumberbatch” who attempts to overcome his addictions and demons rooted from abuse by his father and negligent mother. This is a special review because I had my friend Dennis help share is own review of the show. Take a look:
Once again Benedict Cumberbatch(Patrick Melrose) nails it in this new 5 part series: Patrick Melrose. There’s this popular saying, the rich also cry’, this series explains that in all aspects, from depression to addiction to abuse, it deserves an award if you ask me. So is basically about Patrick’s life(as the title points out) he had this sick childhood, having everything he wanted except freedom, he had to deal with a tyrant as a father and a mother who put up with every vile act of her husband all because she didn’t want to leave him- love? (I think not).
The harsh treatments and abuse from his father shaped Patrick into a not-so-good adult (LOL, okay, to be completely honest, he was a bad excuse for an adult) but in the end, change is essential. It’s hard to tell you about this series without spoiling it so I’m just going to stop there and tell you my best part(*wink*)… There was this scene where Patrick wanted to inject drug into himself but he was out of syringe, so he met some people and he was offered a bicycle pump (like what the hell??!! Can you imagine injecting yourself with that??) It gets worse, he had to inject himself in an abandoned apartment with flickering lights (LOL).. anyways this 5 part series is just too cool not to watch, a lot of lessons to learn and emotions to feel..enjoy
Sincerely speaking Dennis has said everything I wanted to say. The show is just everything when I watched the first episode this is was my exact reaction
So the show is basically about Blanca who forms a “house,” a self-selected family that provides support to LGBTQ youth who have been rejected by their birth families. Damon is a dancer who joins Blanca’s house. Together, they compete in the balls — where house members challenge each other in various categories and are judged on their outfits, attitude, or dance skills — against Blanca’s former house mother, Elektra. Pray Tell is Godfather to the children who compete in the balls. Angel is a streetwalker who develops feelings for a new client, Stan, who has a loving wife, Patty. James Van Der Beek co-stars as Stan’s boss, Matt.
